What is iWrity?

iWrity.com is a platform for self-published authors. Two halves: readers who pick indie books from a library and write honest reviews of them, and a set of KDP tools for the parts of publishing that are guesswork otherwise, such as categories, descriptions, pricing, and whether a niche has room in it.

We run it, and we run Skriuwer. So this page is not a neutral review. It is the explanation we would give a friend who asked what the thing does.

How the review side works

   Readers pick a book from the library

   Nobody is assigned a book. Readers browse and choose what they want to read, which is the difference between a review worth reading and a favour.

   An approved review pays points

   At least 1,300 points per approved review. Reviews get checked for real engagement with the text, so the pile of vague five-star lines that plagues this corner of publishing does not build up.

   Authors fund reviews with points

   Listing your book sets a bounty, currently between 1,000 and 3,800 points depending on what the author offers. Read four books, and you have funded roughly three or four reviews of your own.

   Non-US books get a boost

   Books on the UK, German, French, Spanish, Italian, Canadian, and Australian stores are subsidized, because a US-weighted platform otherwise leaves them sitting there. This is a design decision, not a promise about speed.

How it connects to Skriuwer

Skriuwer is the reader-facing side: over a thousand books on permanent, Google-indexed pages, sorted into lists people actually search for. iWrity is the author-facing side. An author on iWrity can switch on a showcase listing and land on Skriuwer, which is how a book written for a few hundred Kindle readers ends up in front of the people browsing best history books on a Sunday evening.
